Activity Name: Twist Art
Introduction: Painting is an exercise that can provide relief from stress and allow a person to experiment with colors and forms. Not everyone is Picasso, though, and changing up the way we use paint can engage people in new ways.
Size: Any
Supplies: Paper plates, acrylic paints (various colors), paint brushes, newspapers or sheets.4
Objective: Project completion, creativity, hand-eye coordination and following instructions.
Description: Each participant takes two paper plates and applies small, dime-nickel sized dots of paint onto the backs of each plate. Colors and positions are discretionary for each participant. Participant then presses the backs of both plates together and rub them together in a circular motion for 30-60 seconds before pulling them apart. For each participant, the plates must be set aside to dry before they can be displayed.
